We chose to test the 9 9 mm rope as it was already a top seller on many outdoor retailers but they are making a full compliment of ropes from this one all the way down to 7 8 mm half ropes.

Black diamond s 9 6mm rope was designed to do everything well and stand up to a beating while doing it. With that in mind this rope became the go to cord for day in day out use. I reckon if i was using a leading wall more often i would opt for the gym 35 which would easily be big enough for my kit and a 40m rope.

With the reputation for making some of the most durable and trusted hard goods in the industry we were curious to see if black diamond ropes lived up to their reputation. I have a 40 meter rope which fits well with room to spare. The black diamond gym 30 is a great addition to the range and well thought out. We were happy with the handling and performance of the 9 9 and look forward to checking out.
